Thus, we suggest you pay close attention, as this will be of great help to you not just for cleaning, but the effectiveness of your oven range.

Simple Ways Of Cleaning The Filthiest Parts Of Your Oven Range

Oven Knobs

To clean your oven knobs, you have to focus on the areas behind and inside, as they are usually the dirtiest part.

They are either at the top of the burner or below; it depends on the design. If the knob is located above the burner, they easily get stained by food oil or grease from the cooking pot.

Also if the oven knobs are below the burner, it will gather dirt from the food crumbs that drop while cooking or dust.

The first thing to do when cleaning the knob is to remove them. Some brands make the knob easily detachable by simply unscrewing it till it comes out.

However, you may experience some difficulties in removing the knobs if they are too dirty and greasy. Thus, pulling hard might be the only way to detach them.

Secondly, soak the knobs in clean water and add some liquid soap or detergent, whichever one you prefer.

Scrub with a sponge, immerse in the soapy water to clear dirt, then scrub again. Repeat this until the knob is perfectly cleaned. Rinse with clean water after scrubbing and drying.

After dealing with the knob, focus on the panel. Wipe it properly with a small towel. You can spray a glass wiper on the knob to remove grease quickly. Reassemble all when dry.

Drip Pans

An oven drip pan is located just below the burners of your cooker. Drip pans are very important in a gas cooker as they prevent liquid or oil from the food from getting to the gas surface.

Cleaning the drip pans is a difficult task but it can be done. To clean it, start by taking out the burners to expose the drip pans.

You can wash the burners if you choose (don’t wash always to prevent rust). In seemingly hot water with soap, immerse the drip pans. Let them stay for 5 to 15 minutes. While in the water (drip pans),  clean the gas surface and the rings.

Using baking powder, scrub the drip pans for a quicker result. You can also use an oven cleaner. Wash with soap after scrubbing, then rinse and clean. Leave it to dry for a few minutes and then fix it back to the cooker.

Oven Door

The top of the oven door is another tough spot to clean because it attracts dust, dirt particles, food crumbs, grime, and all manner of stains from the surrounding. No worries, you won’t go through much stress getting this part cleaned.

You can start the cleaning process by cranking the oven until the door opens halfway. Remove the towel if you have one hanging on top of the oven. You can put it back after cleaning.

Soak your sponge in soapy water and scrub the oven door. Turn the oven handle after the door and scrub hard. Wipe the oven door and handle with a clean wet towel, then wipe right after with a dry towel.

Drawer Under The Oven

This part of the oven is usually very filthy because it’s a hidden spot and most people do not feel the need to clean it always.

It is used to warm up baked foods, hence it is littered with food particles that dry up when it is not cleaned frequently, which makes it difficult to wash.

To effectively clean the drawer beneath your oven, you must remove all the items kept there such as cutleries, cooking pots, fry pans, etc. Then pull out the drawer for easy access as you can’t clean all the edges while they’re still in.

Use a soapy towel to wipe the drawer, both inside and outside the drawer. Scrub with a sponge if you sight any tough and sticky stains – it could be hardened food particles, grime, or grease. While scrubbing, you can spray on an active surface cleaner to break the tough stains.

In addition, you can lay a shelf liner if the surface of the drawer is rusted or the paint is peeled off to make it attractive and have a new look.

Put back everything you took out of the drawer in an orderly manner, and you are done! We advise you to clean your oven drawer regularly, at least thrice a month to keep it in good shape.

Conclusion

Cleaning your oven range can be a lot of trouble and as such most people tend to leave them dirty for a long period. When they think of how stressful it is and the time it consumes, they would rather leave it unattended.

Well, that wouldn’t be the case any longer as there are ways to clean even the filthiest areas of your range without sweat which we have covered in this article. Do not let anything deprive you of caring for your oven range.
